How do you say goodbye to the first ever African American President of the United States of America? Some never expected Barack Obama to win the presidential election, but on the day he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America, millions around the world broke down in tears irrespective of their color or creed. His presidency has opened a door or doors for some to be all they can be. It has given hope to the hopeless and faith to the faithless. It has proved that the only boundaries in life are the ones you set for yourself. It has also moved the African American community a step away from the horrors of slavery to asking themselves “How can I now make the best out of what America has to offer?” Since all good things must come to an end, how do you say goodbye? As people cried tears of joy when he took office, so some shared tears of gratitude as he passed the baton to the next president. While some never can say goodbye but look forward to Barack Obama picking up the mantle left by Dr. Martin Luther King and fighting for the good of the sick, the lame, the hungry, the deprived, the oppressed and those who want to be all they can be. Barack is not going anywhere.
…and that’s because he ain’t done yet…
